Iowa Hunting Dog Trainer
Countryside Gundogs is an Iowa hunting dog trainer, owned and operated by Jeff Chapman. We are located in East Central Iowa and offer several different German Shorthair training programs to best fit you and your hunting companion!
We train all breeds of Iowa gun dogs, including: German Shorthair pointers, Wirehair, Vislas, Brittany's, Labs, and Springer Spaniels. We also have German Shorthair Pointers for sale as well as started/finished Iowa hunting dogs.
We test our dogs in AKC and NAVHDA events. At Countryside Gundogs, your hunting companion will receive the personal attention they need because we train only a limited amount of hunting dogs at once to ensure each dog will reach their full potential. We will train your Iowa hunting dog to any level you would like them to reach. From basic obedience, to labs going on blind retrieves with hand signals to guide them, to pointing dogs achieving AKC master hunter title or all levels of NAVHDA.
Countryside is a Iowa hunting dog trainer that understands that each hunting dog learns at different speeds and that no two dogs are the same. We adjust our Iowa hunting dog program to fit each individual dog. Before you leave your hunting companion with Countryside for training, we will go over different programs that best fit your needs.
During the training process you will receive updates so you can track their individual hunting dog training progress. Countryside will be completely upfront and honest with your dogs' abilities. There have been several dogs over the years that began as just a bird dog and became a AKC master hunter because that special something came out in training and we decided to go to the next level.
When you pick up your newly trained Iowa hunting dog, we will go over the whole process together one-on-one through each step so the transition is smooth from trainer to owner. You will know how to handle your newly trained Iowa hunting dog on your own. When you drive away, we will stand behind our Iowa hunting dog training and will not leave you out there looking for answers.
